Braces have have improved drastically in recent years, but occasionally there are still problems. Some of these problems could include:

Wires sticking out
Loose braces
Loose bands
Broken wires
Broken braces (brackets)

If any of these problems have happened to you, call our team at A&A Orthodontics at and discuss the proper action to take. Sometimes you will need to come into the office immediately, other times you can repair it yourself or wait until your next appointment. If you are not experiencing any pain or discomfort and the problem does not mess up your treatment, your orthodontist may recommend waiting for treatment until your next appointment. However, calling immediately after the damage happens is very important, as some damage can cause problems that interfere with treatment or cause other problems for your teeth, gums, and mouth.
If you are injured and that caused the problem–say with a blow to the face– seek help right away. Drs. Shabbir Adenwalla and Inayat Ashai will let you know what if any action needs to be taken right away, or if the problem can wait.
Sometimes our team will have to replace wires or brackets; sometimes we will simply need to adjust, re-attach, or reposition them. Either way, it takes some time. Please call our office before your appointment and explain the situation, both to make sure you are getting the right care, and to ensure that enough time is scheduled for the repairs.

If you have had damage done to your braces and you are in the Avon, Sandusky and Wadsworth, Ohio area, call A&A Orthodontics to both talk with Drs. Shabbir Adenwalla and Inayat Ashai about your treatment options and also to schedule an appointment with our team.
