Braces: The Ways to Relieve Your Sore and Sensitive Teeth

To help you have the best orthodontic experience possible, Dr. Shabbir Adenwalla and Inayat Ashai and our team have some tips that will help you finally relieve the soreness and sensitivity you feel after your braces have been tightened.

We understand how uncomfortable and inconvenient it can be when your teeth aren’t as strong as normal, so we would like to help you improve the situation as soon as possible by doing the following things:

-Rinse your mouth with warm water.

-Only eat soft foods for the first few days after your tightening appointment. If you eat harder foods, it will only make the discomfort worse.

-Take pain medication as needed. Feel free to take Tylenol or Advil—just make sure to follow the instructions on the bottle.

-Chew as often as possible. Chewing might be difficult at first, but it will help make you feel better faster.

-If the pain lasts more than a few days, call our office and schedule an appointment with your orthodontist.

Doing these things will help you feel comfortable in no time! For more information and details, please remember that you can always call A&A Orthodontics at and talk to a member of our team. We are more than happy to help you have the best orthodontic treatment and experience possible, and we look forward to helping you!
